Peri-menopause
(The Transition Phase)
Peri-menopause is the period leading up to menopause and can begin several years before menstruation stops completely, typically starting in a woman's 40s but sometimes earlier.
During this phase, oestrogen and progesterone levels fluctuate, causing irregular periods and various menopausal symptoms.
Some of the more common symptoms during perimenopause:

Irregular menstrual cycles (shorter or longer than usual)

Hot flashes and night sweats

Mood swings and irritability

Sleep disturbances (insomnia)

Vaginal dryness and discomfort during sex

Decreased libido
-
Weight gain, particularly around the abdomen

Brain fog or difficulty concentrating

Increased PMS-like symptoms
